Wat als Kurt Cobain en Ariana Grande samen een Pokémon zouden krijgen? Ja, dan krijg je zo ongeveer een Hiqpy. Het 4-koppige beestje is speels en ietwat eigenwijs. Superkracht: Spuwt vlammetjes van galmende adlibs en fuzzy gitaren.

In 2023 deed de Amsterdamse indierockband Hiqpy als 3voor12 Talent mee aan Popronde. Na iedere show namen in de recensies de superlatieven toe en stroomde hun inbox vol met mails uit de industrie. Een daaropvolgend optreden van een kwartier op Noorderslag 2024 was genoeg om ook de rest van Nederland te overtuigen van het bestaansrecht van Hiqpy. En dat terwijl ze nog geen noot muziek hadden uitgebracht. 'Hiqpy is ineens the next big thing, terwijl er nog niets op Spotify staat’ kopte NRC.

delivers a mix of garage rock and shoegaze, with an attitude that clearly shows they're in full control amidst the massive energy bomb in the room.
